“Lahore” the city of lively people is the Capital of Punjab Province of Pakistan, with the population of about 14 Million. The main magnetism of the city is its beautiful construction and busy markets. There are centuries’ old traditional buildings in Lahore city in which the Mughals contributed the most to it.

The Mughal buildings are the most attractive. On an average person can simply spend two full days of visiting the attractions here. There are many mosques, memorial markets, evening musical programs and a variety way of life in the city. The Lahore Museum is the biggest one in Pakistan and house items from all over the country. The Lahore city is located just 25 kilometers away from the Indian border on the Grand Trunk road. It is the transit point between India and Pakistan.

For traveling, beside regular road transport, there is a largest train service as well. Lahore is linked with all major cities of Pakistan by road, rail and air. It is also linked internationally by PIA and a few other local and foreign flight services. There are also regular flight from all major cities of Pakistan to Lahore controlled by Private airlines such as Shaheen Air and Airblue. Temperature in Lahore is usually warm apart from in the months of January and February it is quite pleasant.

There are quite a lot of daily air flights, express trains, and luxury bus services connecting Lahore with Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar and all the major cities and towns of the country. Most of Pakistan’s fashion industry is based in Lahore.

The most famous public monument is located in Iqbal Park Lahore and   is opened from 21st October 1968.

Tomb of Allama Iqbal

The poet-philosopher of the East, the mausoleum is a blend of Afghan and Moorish styles of architecture.  It is constructed entirely of red sand stone which was carried and brought from Rajasthan.

Tomb of Jahangir

The fourth great Mughal Emperor,  lays three miles north-west of Lahore across the River Ravi. It has a majestic structure made of red sand-stone and marble.

Qutub–ud–Din Aibak Tomb

He was appointed Governor of India in 1191 AD by Muhammad Ghauri. He established the Slave Dynasty on the death of Muhammad Ghauri in 1206 when he assumed independence of his reign and was followed by nine other slave kings.

Tomb of Noor Jahan

The Empress Noor Jahan, “Light of the World”, was the only empress whose name appeared on the coins of the Mughal empire. She was buried in 1845 AD at Shahdara (Lahore) outside Jehangir’s mausoleum.

Tomb of Asif Khan

In the courtyard near Jahangir tomb lies buried his brother-in-law, Asif Khan, father of Shah Jahan’s beloved Queen Arjumand Bano. He lies in a tomb that today shows little of its former splendor.
