Murree has no counterpart when it comes to domestic tours and one of the most popular hill stations of Pakistan. The maximum temperature during this period hovers between twelve to twenty and minimum between four and ten. The area receives heavy rain and hail storms during this season. The fruit trees laden with flowers give a spectacular view. Summer spans from middle of March to June end of August. The lowest temperature during this season is between 13 and 16 while the highest temperature is in between 20 to 25. This is the best season in the area and it receives the most number of visitors during this season.
With the advent of September autumn creeps in and last till the starts of winter in early December. This is the seasons of clear sky in the region when one can enjoy a full view of mountains around without cloud hindrance. Temperatures are mild. Winter starts in December and normally brings heavy snowfall. Murree and its surrounding areas are covered with thick sheet of snow during most part of the season. Nathia Gali or Nathiagali is one of the mountain holiday towns of the Galyat area of Pakistan. It is one of the most popular tourist areas of the Murree Hills, with fairly good facilities and is on the road from Murree to Abbottabad lying midway between the two " Mukshpuri " and " Miranjani "
These are the two nearby high peaks both of which are favored by hikers. The Mukshpuri track is wide and easy to hike. The Miranjani track, on the other hand, is a bit more difficult as it has steeper height and the track is narrow at some places. Both of these peaks could be reached within 2 to 3 hours by hiking.
A cluster of four small hill stations of Khanaspur, Khairagali, Changlagali and Ghora Dhaka is called Ayubia and was named after President Ayub Khan who belonged to Haripur district of Hazara. The complex is spread over an area of 26 km. The central place of Ghora Dhaka has a chair lift, which gives a panoramic and mesmerizing view of the surroundings.
Patriata also called New Murree is a hill resort situated 15 km South East of Murree at the highest peak of Murree Hills. It stands 9,000 feet above sea level. The climate here is much cooler and the area is heavily forested. The pine-scented crisp clean air, the lush green surroundings, and the calm and quiet of the place are really intoxicating. The British called it “The Little England” and planted oak and chestnut trees to give it a colonial touch.
Ghora Gali is a hill station located at the north eastern tip of the Punjab province in Pakistan. It is at a height of 1691 meters and is a wonderful place with its beautiful scenery and pleasant climate. The hill station was developed by the British as a resort for its troops. It was mainly chosen, as its breathtaking surroundings were very much similar to the scenery of Great Britain. So to give the troops an atmosphere of home Ghora Gali was decided to be developed as their recreation.
Changla Gali is a hill station located in the Sheer Gharbi district and 16 km from Murree. It lies in the Galliat Region which forms a link between Punjab and NWFP provinces of Pakistan.
